It was learned that an investigation team formed by Cao Chengwen- President of Hunan Tea Industry Association, Cai Zhenchu- Senior Consultant of Hunan Tea Culture Research Institution, Bao Xiaocun- Director of Hunan Tea Culture Research Institution and some other experts visited Maqiaotown, Rucheng county recently. It was purposely to investigate its 10,000-mu ecological tea garden.
The experts visited the production base to learn the details of the tea park, such as the species and plantation of tea, planning of the tea garden, and etc. They stated that the true ecological and organic tea can only be facilitated from Waisha tea garden. They also highly affirmed its manorial economy plan.
The 10,000-mu ecological tea garden project of Maqiao was one of the agricultural industrial projects introduced by the town. It was launched in last August and was planned to be finished in three years. The final construction place of this project was selected in Sanjiaodong and Wubeiling of Waisha village, Maqiao town. According to the plan, 1500mu core areas, 2200mu demonstration areas and 6300mu driving areas would be constructed for the project. It was purposely to build 3000mu central tea gardens by renting lands to drive the masses around the area to join in the construction and form a 10,000mu ecological tea garden and reach the annual production capacity of 0.50 million kgs and output value of 400 million yuan. The 1500mu core areas was planned to be finished in 2013 and 2200mu demonstration areas was planned to be constructed in 2014. Along with the construction, it would be promoted to be a comprehensive tea culture demonstration base with the functions of technical training, tea art performance, leisure and sightseeing.
This project which was a bright spot for the town’s agricultural modernization would become a great driving engine to promote the improvement of local county and help to increase the farmers’income.
